SAK x DS

SAK x DS

This activation started like most of our favourite things do - as a random thought LOL. We love double shot. We love our community. So we thought - why not bring the two together? Andddd just like that, we were building custom drinks and designing coffee sleeves.

The Idea: Build Community, Not Just Hype

We didn’t want a transactional pop-up. If we were going to do something, it had to feel easy, warm, interactive, and very us. Something you'd walk into and instantly feel part of.

The vision was simple:

  • Custom SAK drinks
  • SAK gift cards for every customer
  • A life-sized SAK mirror bag moment
  • And SAK girls behind the counter whisking matcha

Low-pressure. High-vibe. Very intentional.

Step 1: The Pitch

The "pitch" that didn't really feel like a pitch - our meeting with Ali was exactly the kind of conversation we were hoping for - relaxed, open and easy. We did have a whole presentation ready to present ofc we're very serious gals. However, best believe, at one point i was fully slouched while explaining the concept which honestly sums up the vibe - just genuine excitement about building something fun together.

By the end of it (or perhaps just from the start), he was in.

And just like that, the second weekend of Ramadan was locked.

Step 2: Execution Mode Activated

☕ Custom Drinks R&D

First up: drink development. What would a SAK girl drink?

Once R&D was underway, Ali invited us over for tasting. And yes — this might have been the best meeting of my life.

After testing, tweaking, and serious consideration (very serious), we finalised:

  • Toasted Banana Matcha
  • Citrus Earl Matcha
  • Coconut Matcha
  • Salted Caramel Latte

Fresh. Unexpected. A little playful. Very SAK.

🪞 The Mirror Bag Situation

Our life-sized SAK mirror bag arrived.

And… it was too low.

So low that even I (5 ft tall) couldn’t see myself in it which is saying something. Everyone had a field day at the office taking pictures and videos in the mini mirror - crisis turned content opportunity. Eventually we had a block added under the bag to elevate it enough that all heights, tall and short could see themselves in the mirror.

🍵 The Matcha Workshop (The Best Part)

Before the big day, Ali and his team hosted a private matcha workshop for us. No slouching at this workshop lol. It was a whole vibe and we all learned so much like the origin of matcha, different flushes, how quality affects taste, whisking techniques and how Ayman has never tried Matcha anddd also how Amna was a notes gatekeeper in uni. Proceeded to make all 3 drinks ourselves too.

Did we take shots of raw matcha? Yes.

Did we feel like purists for five minutes? Yes.

No, it was not delicious on its own.

But it made us appreciate the craft so much more.

Final Prep Checklist

  • Gift cards: Ready
  • Cup sleeve design: Locked
  • Custom drinks: Perfected
  • Mirror bag: Elevated
  • SAK girls: Matcha-trained

Rollout day: 28 February.

The Activation: Pure Magic

And then Saturday happened.

It was full. Loud. Warm. Joyful.

So many people showed up. Customers. Models. Influencers. Friends. New faces who became familiar faces by the end of the day.

Lots of laughs, giggles, photos, compliments, spilled matcha (naturally), and endless conversations. Watching our community interact in a space that wasn’t just about buying clothes — but about being part of something — felt different.

It reminded us why we do this. We always say we design with intention. That intention extends to experiences. To people. To moments like this.

If you came — thank you for making it what it was.

If you missed it — don’t worry, we'll catch you real soon!
